Getting started: your step-by-step launch guide

Rennt gives you your own branded booking website plus a full admin to run the whole operation. The steps below mirror the Get started checklist you'll see inside your dashboard, so you can follow along in both places. Most people are live the same day they sign up.

1. Set up your business 2 min

   Go to rennt.app/start and create your account. You'll pick two things:

   • Your business name — this is what shows on your storefront and in emails to customers.
   • Your web address (your slug) — the short, lowercase name in your link. Your booking site lives at rennt.app/s/your-slug, so pick something clean and memorable like your-business.

   New accounts start on a 14-day free trial with no card required, and in cash mode so you can take bookings right away. After you sign in you'll land in your dashboard at rennt.app/manage — that's your home base for everything below.

   Tip: Your slug becomes part of your public link, so choose it carefully — it's worth keeping it short and brand-friendly.

2. Add your inventory 5–10 min

   Open Inventory in your dashboard and add the items you rent. You don't need your whole catalog to launch — start with 5–10 of your most-rented items and add more anytime. You have three easy ways to do it:

   • Add manually — click Add product, then fill in the name, a short description, the price (per rental), the quantity you own (this powers live availability so you never double-book), and an optional photo. Group items into categories like "Tables," "Chairs" or "Tents."
   • CSV import — already have a spreadsheet? Use Import to bring in your whole list at once. Download the sample template, paste your items in, and upload. Great for getting dozens of products in minutes.
   • AI generate — short on time? Describe your business and let the AI draft a starter catalog for you to review and tweak. (Available when AI is enabled on your account.)
   Tip: A clear photo and an honest quantity matter most. The quantity is what stops two customers from booking the same five tents for the same Saturday. See Inventory & pricing for the full walkthrough.

3. Turn on your options in Settings 3 min

   Go to Settings › What you offer and switch on exactly the options that fit how you run your business. These toggles control what your customers see and can choose at checkout — for example:

   • Pickup (will-call) and/or delivery — and whether delivery is curbside drop-off, full setup, or both.
   • Whether you collect a security deposit and offer an optional damage waiver.
   • Whether customers can leave reviews on your storefront.
   • A minimum order amount and a lead time (how many days' notice you need).

   Tip: When in doubt, start simple — pickup only, no deposit — and turn on more as you grow. You can change any of these anytime.

4. Build your website 4 min

   Head to the website builder at rennt.app/build and make your storefront yours. You can:

   • Start from a template — pick a ready-made layout and just swap in your details.
   • Use the AI generator — describe your business in a sentence or two and get a full draft site to refine (when AI is enabled on your account).
   • Drag and drop — add, reorder and edit sections yourself for total control.

   Set your logo, colors and a hero headline, then hit Publish. Your storefront is now live at rennt.app/s/your-slug. Full details in Build your storefront.

5. Connect payments — cash now, Stripe later optional

   You're already set to take cash bookings — nothing to configure. When a customer books, you simply collect payment on delivery or pickup. Rennt takes no cut of your rental money, and there are no processor fees.

   Ready to accept cards online? In Settings, click Connect Stripe and link your own Stripe account in a few clicks. Card payments then land straight in your bank — Rennt never holds your rental funds. You can do this now or any time down the road. Walkthrough: Connect Stripe for cards.

   Tip: Plenty of rental businesses run happily on cash mode for a long time. Don't let payments be the thing that delays your launch.

6. Publish & share your link 1 min

   Copy your storefront link and put it everywhere your customers already find you — your Instagram bio, your Facebook page, your Google Business profile, and your text-message replies. That single link lets people browse your catalog, pick a date, see live availability and send you a request.

   When a request comes in, you'll get notified. Open it in Bookings, review the items and date, and confirm — then collect payment per your terms. That's your first booking! More ideas for getting noticed in Grow your business, and the full booking flow in Take bookings.
