Acceptable Use Policy

Effective and last updated: October 13, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of the Rennt Terms of Service. It applies to every rental company on Rennt, its team members, and anyone using a Rennt storefront or chat. It exists to keep renters safe, keep messaging working for everyone, and keep the platform reliable.

1. Nothing illegal, unsafe or deceptive

  • Do not use Rennt for anything unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive, including fake listings, bait-and-switch pricing, or taking deposits for bookings you do not intend to honor.
  • Do not list items you have no right to rent, items that are illegal where you operate, or equipment you know is recalled or unsafe.
  • Show prices, fees, deposits and policies honestly. Do not hide mandatory fees until after a renter commits.
  • Do not impersonate another person or business.

2. Texts and emails

  • Consent first. Only text renters who checked the box to receive texts, and only about what they agreed to. Never text purchased, scraped or imported lists.
  • Marketing texts need separate, prior express written consent for marketing.
  • Honor STOP right away, answer HELP, and do not text at unreasonable hours.
  • Marketing emails must follow the CAN-SPAM Act: honest subject lines, your business's postal address, and a working unsubscribe link you honor.
  • No spam, phishing, or messages with harmful links.

3. AI features

  • Do not make the AI pretend to be human. Do not instruct or configure your storefront AI assistant to claim it is a person, to deny being an AI, or to hide that it is automated.
  • Do not use AI features to mislead renters — for example about prices, availability, safety, insurance or policies — or to make promises you will not keep.
  • Review AI-generated website content, quotes and replies before publishing or sending.
  • Do not use AI features to create illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or infringing content, or to get around our limits or the AI provider's usage policies.

4. Content

  • Only upload photos, logos and text you own or have permission to use.
  • No hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit or violent content.
  • No content that exploits or endangers minors, ever.

5. Privacy and customer data

  • Collect only the customer information you need to run your bookings, and use it only for that business relationship.
  • Do not put card numbers, government ID numbers, bank account numbers or health information in booking notes, customer fields or chats.
  • Do not use the Service to stalk, track or harass anyone.

6. Security and platform abuse

  • Do not try to access other accounts, other rental companies' data, or parts of the Service you are not allowed to use.
  • Do not probe, scan or test our security, except under the responsible disclosure rules on our Security page.
  • Do not upload malware, overload the Service, or run automated scraping or bulk requests.
  • Do not get around rate limits, plan limits, trials or AI credits, for example by creating multiple accounts.
  • Do not resell, sublicense or white-label Rennt to others without our written permission.

7. Reporting a problem

If you see a storefront or message that breaks this policy, email support@rennt.app with the storefront link and what you saw.

8. What we do about violations

We may remove content, pause messaging or AI features, suspend a storefront, or close an account, depending on how serious the problem is. When it is safe and practical, we will contact you first and give you a chance to fix it. We may report illegal activity to the authorities.
