Privacy Policy
The short version
- We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
- Renter booking data belongs to the rental company; Rennt processes it for them.
- Mobile numbers and text opt-in data are never shared for marketing.
- AI features use Anthropic, which does not train on this data under its commercial terms.
- Email support@rennt.app to access, correct, delete or export your data.
This Privacy Policy explains how Bynum Enterprises ("Rennt," "we," "us," or "our"), based in Texas, United States, collects, uses and shares personal information through the Rennt platform at rennt.app, tenant storefronts at rennt.app/s/… and connected custom domains, and related emails, texts and chats (the "Service").
1. Who this covers, and our role
- Rental companies ("Tenants") and their team members who use Rennt. For your account data, Rennt is the controller (the "business").
- Visitors to rennt.app. Rennt is the controller.
- Renters who book through a Tenant's storefront or chat with its booking assistant. The rental company is in charge of that data, and Rennt processes it for them as a processor (service provider). See section 12.
2. Information we collect
From Tenants
- Account details: name, business name, email, phone, storefront address (slug), team members and roles. Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider; we never see them in plain text. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile picture from Google.
- Business content: inventory, photos, prices, policies, delivery settings, your rental agreement, website content, quotes, notes, documents you upload, and settings.
- Billing details: plan, subscription status, invoices, and the card brand and last four digits from Stripe. Stripe collects full card numbers; we never receive or store them.
- Connected tools: if you connect your own Twilio, Mailchimp or QuickBooks account, we store the credentials or tokens needed to act for you, in a protected store browsers cannot read.
- Communications: support emails, help-center questions and feedback, and chats with our support assistant.
From Renters (on behalf of the rental company)
- Name, email, phone number, delivery or event address, event dates and times, items requested, notes, and booking history.
- E-signature data: the typed legal name, an optional drawn signature image, the agreement checkbox, and the date and time of signing.
- Text message consent: whether you checked the box to receive booking texts, and when.
- Payment status: amount, status, and card brand and last four digits for card payments, which are processed by the rental company's own Stripe account. Rennt never stores card numbers.
- Chat messages you send to a storefront's AI booking assistant.
- Storefront activity: pages and products viewed, cart and checkout steps, device type, referring site and campaign tags, tied to a temporary session ID that is cleared when you close the browser tab.
From visitors to rennt.app
- Usage and device data such as IP address, browser, pages viewed and clicks, collected through Google Analytics and our servers (see section 8).
- Your email if you give it to us (for example to get a guide or contact us), and anything you type into our support chat.
3. How we use information
- To provide the Service: storefronts, availability, bookings, agreements, payments, deliveries, notifications and dashboards.
- To bill subscriptions, per-booking fees and AI credits.
- To send service emails and texts (confirmations, reminders, receipts, account and security notices) and, for Tenants, helpful onboarding emails you can unsubscribe from.
- To provide support and answer questions.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- To understand usage and improve the Service, using aggregated or de-identified data where we can.
- To meet legal obligations.
We use Renter data only to provide the Service to the rental company and as it instructs, never for our own marketing.
4. How we share information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only:
- With the rental company you booked with, so it can fulfill your booking.
- With our service providers who help run the Service, under contracts that limit their use. They are listed on our Subprocessors page.
- With tools a Tenant connects, such as its own Stripe, Twilio, Mailchimp or QuickBooks account, at that Tenant's direction.
- For legal reasons — to follow the law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and property of people or of Rennt.
- In a business transfer — if Rennt is merged, acquired or sold, subject to this policy.
5. Service providers
Our main vendors are Supabase (database, sign-in, file storage), Vercel (website hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Twilio (text messages), Anthropic (AI features) and Google (analytics and Google sign-in). What each one receives, and where, is on our Subprocessors page.
6. AI features
Rennt's AI features — the website builder, quote and reply drafts, the support assistant, and a storefront's optional AI booking assistant — are powered by Anthropic's Claude models. When you use one, we send the text needed to answer (for example your message, the business's public info, policies and inventory, and availability) to Anthropic through its commercial API. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this data is not used to train its models and is kept by Anthropic only for a limited period for safety and abuse monitoring.
A storefront's booking assistant is labeled as AI and is not a person. If you share booking details with it and ask it to book, it sends a booking request to the rental company, which confirms it. Chat messages may be stored so the rental company can follow up. Please don't share sensitive information such as card numbers in a chat.
7. Text messages
Renters only get booking texts from a rental company if they check the separate, unchecked-by-default box at checkout. Texts cover booking confirmations, reminders and delivery updates; frequency varies by booking; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of booking.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the messaging providers (such as Twilio) that deliver the texts.
8. Cookies, analytics and tracking
- Necessary storage. We use browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your cart and settings, and keep the Service secure. These cannot be turned off without breaking the Service.
- Google Analytics on rennt.app. We use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and sign-ups on our own marketing site. It uses cookies and collects data such as pages viewed, device and approximate location derived from IP. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, or opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We do not use Google Analytics advertising features.
- Storefront analytics. Storefronts use Rennt's own first-party analytics (a session ID stored only for the browser tab) so the rental company can see visits and bookings. A rental company may also add its own Google Analytics, which is governed by that company's own policy.
- No ad pixels. No advertising pixel (such as the Meta Pixel) is active on rennt.app. If we ever turn one on, we will update this policy first and give you a way to opt out, including by honoring Global Privacy Control signals.
- Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing; since we do not sell or share, nothing further changes.
9. How long we keep information
- Tenant accounts and business data: while the account is open. After an account is closed, we delete or de-identify it within 30 days, except records we must keep (such as invoices and tax records) and copies in backups, which expire on our providers' normal backup schedule.
- Renter booking data: for as long as the rental company keeps it in its account, and deleted when the rental company deletes it or closes its account (as above).
- Deletion requests: we complete verified deletion requests within 30 days unless the law requires us to keep something.
- Analytics: Google Analytics data on rennt.app is kept for no longer than 14 months.
- Security logs and audit records: as long as needed for security and to resolve disputes.
10. Security
Each rental company's data is isolated at the database level, all traffic is encrypted in transit, data is encrypted at rest by our infrastructure providers, and we never store card numbers. No system is perfectly secure; read the details on our Security page.
11. Your privacy rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and you can unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in any of them. Email support@rennt.app. We will verify your request (usually by confirming you control the email on file) and respond within 45 days.
If you are a Renter, please send requests about a booking to the rental company you booked with, because it controls that data. If you contact us, we will forward your request to it and help it respond.
U.S. state privacy rights
Residents of California, Texas and the other states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Delaware, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky and Rhode Island) may have these rights, subject to legal limits:
- To know or access the personal information we have about you and how we use and disclose it;
- To correct inaccurate information;
- To delete your information;
- To get a copy in a portable format;
- To opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising, and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects — we do none of these;
- To limit the use of sensitive personal information — we use it only as needed to provide the Service (for example, your password to sign you in);
- Not to be discriminated against for using your rights.
California (CCPA/CPRA). In the past 12 months we collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address); customer records (address, signature); commercial information (bookings, subscriptions and payments); internet activity (pages and interactions); approximate location derived from IP; professional information (business name and role); and sensitive personal information limited to account login credentials. We collected it from you, your devices, the rental company you booked with, and our service providers, for the purposes in section 3, and disclosed it for business purposes only to the categories of recipients in section 4. We have not sold or shared personal information, including of consumers under 16. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask the agent for proof of authority and ask you to verify your identity.
Texas (TDPSA) and other states. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing support@rennt.app with "Privacy appeal" in the subject. We will answer the appeal within 60 days and explain the result. If you disagree with the result, you can contact your state attorney general — in Texas, at texasattorneygeneral.gov.
12. Renters and rental-company data
When you book through a storefront on Rennt, the rental company that runs it decides how your information is used and is responsible for it. Rennt stores and processes it on the company's behalf under our Data Processing Addendum, which limits us to providing the Service. The rental company's own privacy notice and policies apply to how it uses your information. For access, correction or deletion, contact the rental company; we will help it respond.
13. Children
The Service is for businesses and adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and Tenant accounts require users to be 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email support@rennt.app and we will delete it.
14. Where data is stored
Rennt is operated in the United States, and our primary database is hosted in the United States. Some providers (such as our hosting network) may serve content from locations closer to you. The Service is designed for U.S. businesses.
15. Changes to this policy
We will update the date at the top when this policy changes. For material changes we will notify Tenants by email or in the dashboard before they take effect.
