Terms of Service
The short version
- Rennt is software. Each booking is between you and your renter, and you write your own rental agreement.
- Plans renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel anytime from Billing; you keep access until the paid period ends.
- We charge a flat 1¢ per booking, never a percentage. Renter card payments go to your own Stripe account.
- You are the sender of texts to your renters and must have their consent. The storefront AI assistant always identifies as AI.
- Texas law governs these Terms.
Welcome to Rennt. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Bynum Enterprises, a business based in Texas, United States ("Rennt," "we," "us," or "our"), which operates the Rennt platform at rennt.app, tenant storefronts at rennt.app/s/… and connected custom domains (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Acceptable Use Policy and, where you store your customers' information with us, our Data Processing Addendum. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorized to bind that business, and "you" means that business.
1. What Rennt is
Rennt is booking software for event and party rental companies. We give a rental company ("you" or a "Tenant") a branded online storefront, live availability, quotes, rental agreements with e-signatures, delivery tools, a customer list, optional AI tools, and a dashboard to run it all.
Rennt is software, not a rental company. We do not own, rent, deliver, set up, or insure any equipment, and we are not a party to the agreements between you and your customers ("Renters").
2. Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. The Service is for businesses, not personal or household use.
- Give us accurate account information and keep it current. We send important notices to the email on your account.
- Keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and for everyone you invite to your team. Tell us right away at support@rennt.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
- One trial per business. Do not create accounts to get around limits, trials, or credits.
3. Plans, billing and auto-renewal
Current plans (prices in U.S. dollars, before tax):
- Starter — $9 per month, or $99 per year.
- Pro — $29 per month, or $319 per year.
- Max — $199 per month (introductory price). The introductory price stays locked for as long as your Max subscription stays active.
- Every plan also pays $0.01 (one cent) per booking. We never charge a percentage of your rental revenue.
- AI credits are included with some plans and can be bought in packs. See section 9.
Auto-renewal. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period at the then-current price until you cancel. By subscribing you authorize us and our payment processor, Stripe, to charge your payment method for the plan fee in advance, per-booking fees in arrears, and any AI credit packs you buy.
Price changes. We will email you at least 30 days before any price increase takes effect for your plan. The new price starts at your next renewal after the notice period, and you can cancel before then.
Yearly reminders. For yearly plans, we will email you a reminder before your renewal date with the renewal price and how to cancel.
Taxes. Fees do not include taxes. You are responsible for applicable taxes other than taxes on our income.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, we will email you and retry. If it is still unpaid after a reasonable grace period, we may limit or suspend paid features until it is resolved. Your data is not deleted because of a failed payment while your account remains open.
4. Free trial, cancellation and refunds
Free trial. New accounts get a 14-day free trial, with no card required to start. If you do not add a payment method and subscribe, your account does not convert to a paid plan and you are not charged. If you add a payment method and choose a plan during the trial, billing starts when you subscribe or, if shown at checkout, when the trial ends.
Cancel anytime, online. You can cancel from Billing in your dashboard at any time, or by emailing support@rennt.app. Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
Refunds. Fees already paid are generally non-refundable, including for partial periods and unused credits, except where the law requires a refund or we say otherwise in writing. If you were charged in error or a renewal charge surprised you, email us within 30 days and we will review it in good faith.
5. Your responsibilities as a rental company
You run your business; Rennt provides the tools. You are responsible for:
- Your listings — items, photos, quantities, prices, fees, deposits, delivery areas and policies.
- Your bookings — confirming, delivering, setting up, picking up, and supporting every booking, and handling cancellations, refunds, damage and disputes with your Renters.
- Your legal duties — licenses, permits, insurance, equipment safety and inspections, consumer protection, sales tax, and any other law that applies to your business.
- Your customers' data — having a lawful reason to collect it, giving your Renters any privacy notice the law requires, and responding to their privacy requests (we help, see the DPA).
- Your messages — every text, email and chat sent to your Renters from your account (see sections 8 and 9).
6. Rental agreements and your Renters
Each booking is a deal between you and your Renter. Rennt is not a party to it and does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality or availability of anything listed on a storefront.
You write your rental agreement. Rennt does not supply rental agreement terms for your storefront. Any sample or template we publish (for example our free rental agreement page) is a general example only, is not legal advice, and may not fit your state or business. You are the author of, and responsible for, the agreement your Renters sign.
7. Electronic signatures and records
When you add a rental agreement, Rennt lets Renters sign it electronically at checkout. The Service records the signer's typed legal name, an optional drawn signature, the agreement checkbox, and the date and time of signing, and stores them with the booking so you can view and print the signed agreement from your dashboard.
- The U.S. federal ESIGN Act and state laws based on the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA) generally treat electronic signatures and records like paper ones when the signer intends to sign and agrees to do business electronically. Rennt's checkout asks the Renter to confirm both.
- You are responsible for whether your agreement is enforceable, for offering a paper copy if a Renter asks, and for any type of agreement that a law says cannot be signed electronically.
- Keep your own copies of signed agreements you need. You can print or export them at any time while your account is open.
Electronic communications with us. You agree that we may provide notices, receipts and these Terms to you electronically, by email or in your dashboard, and that this satisfies any requirement that they be in writing.
8. Text messages (SMS)
Rennt can send booking texts (confirmations, reminders, delivery updates) to Renters, either through a platform messaging account or through your own connected Twilio account. Either way, the texts are sent on your behalf, under your business name, and you are the sender for the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), carrier rules and similar laws. You agree to:
- Text only Renters who gave consent. The storefront checkbox for booking texts is unchecked by default and is separate from the agreement; do not change that, and do not text numbers you imported or collected without consent.
- Send only the kind of messages the Renter agreed to. Marketing texts need prior express written consent that specifically covers marketing.
- Honor STOP (and similar opt-out words) right away, answer HELP, and avoid texting at unreasonable hours in the Renter's time zone.
- If you connect your own Twilio account, complete any required A2P 10DLC brand and campaign registration and follow Twilio's and the carriers' rules.
We may block or suspend messaging that we reasonably believe breaks these rules. Rennt itself only texts you (the account owner) if you ask us to.
9. AI features and AI credits
Rennt includes optional AI features powered by Anthropic's Claude models, including the AI website builder, quote and reply drafts, a support assistant in your dashboard and on our site, and an AI booking assistant you can turn on for your storefront.
- AI can be wrong. Review AI-generated pages, prices, quotes and replies before you publish or send them. You are responsible for what you publish.
- The storefront assistant says it is AI. The storefront chat is labeled as an AI assistant and will say so if asked. You may not configure it, through instructions or otherwise, to claim to be a person, to make promises you would not honor, or to mislead Renters.
- Chat bookings are requests. When a Renter books through the assistant, it creates a booking request in your dashboard, the same as a storefront booking. You confirm or decline it.
- Your data and AI. To answer, we send the relevant text (for example the chat messages, your business info and inventory details) to Anthropic through its commercial API. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this data is not used to train its models. See our Privacy Policy.
- Credits. AI credits are a license to use AI features, not money. Different actions cost different amounts (shown in your dashboard; a failed AI run costs nothing). Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and are non-refundable except where required by law.
10. Payments and Stripe
There are two separate money flows:
- You pay Rennt your plan, per-booking and credit fees through Stripe on the Rennt platform account.
- Your Renters pay you. You can take cash or checks directly, or connect your own Stripe account through Stripe Connect so card payments go to your own Stripe balance and bank. Rennt never holds your rental funds and never stores card numbers.
Stripe Connect terms. Payment processing services for Tenants on Rennt are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement (together, the "Stripe Services Agreement"). By connecting a Stripe account through Rennt, you agree to the Stripe Services Agreement as it may be modified by Stripe from time to time. As a condition of Rennt enabling payment processing through Stripe, you agree to provide Rennt accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you authorize Rennt to share it and transaction information related to your use of the payment processing services provided by Stripe. Stripe's handling of personal data is described in the Stripe Privacy Policy; ours is in our Privacy Policy.
What Rennt sees. Rennt receives your connected account ID and status and, for each payment, its amount, status, Renter name and email, and card brand and last four digits. We use this only to show payments in your dashboard, match them to bookings, and provide support.
Platform fee. On card payments through Stripe Connect, Rennt collects a flat application fee of $0.01 per payment through Stripe — never a percentage. Stripe's own processing fees are set by Stripe and charged to your Stripe account. You are responsible for refunds, disputes and chargebacks on your Stripe account.
11. Acceptable use
You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. In short: nothing illegal, deceptive or harmful; no spam or texting without consent; no attacking, overloading or scraping the Service; and no reselling the Service without our written permission. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break it.
12. Your data and your customers' data
You own your content — your logo, text, photos, inventory and customer records ("Your Content"). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, display and transmit Your Content only to provide, secure and support the Service and as you instruct. When we store your Renters' personal information for you, we act as your processor (service provider) under our Data Processing Addendum, which is part of these Terms. We describe our security practices on our Security page and list our vendors on our Subprocessors page.
We may use de-identified, aggregated data (for example, total bookings across the platform) to run and improve the Service. It will not identify you or any Renter.
13. Our intellectual property and feedback
Bynum Enterprises owns the Service, including its software, design, brand and documentation. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service under these Terms. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.
14. Third-party services
The Service relies on vendors such as Stripe, Supabase, Vercel, Resend, Twilio, Anthropic and Google, and lets you connect your own tools (for example your own Twilio, Mailchimp or QuickBooks account). Your use of a connected third-party tool is governed by that provider's terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
15. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI OUTPUT, TEMPLATES OR SAMPLE CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR LEGALLY SUFFICIENT FOR YOUR BUSINESS.
16. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER RENNT NOR BYNUM ENTERPRISES WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). SOME LAWS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITS, SO THEY MAY NOT ALL APPLY TO YOU.
17. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify Rennt and Bynum Enterprises against third-party claims, and related losses and reasonable legal fees, arising from your rental business, Your Content, your agreements and dealings with Renters, messages sent from your account, or your breach of these Terms or the law.
18. Suspension, termination and your data
You can cancel and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy, do not pay, or if your use creates a security, legal or safety risk. Where reasonable, we will give notice first and a chance to fix the problem.
Getting your data out. You can export bookings, customers and inventory as CSV files at any time while your account is open. After your account closes, we delete or de-identify Your Content within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax, accounting or security reasons, and copies in backups that expire on our providers' normal schedule. Details are in our Privacy Policy and DPA.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in your dashboard before they take effect, unless a change is needed sooner for legal or security reasons. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
20. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing a claim, each party agrees to try to resolve the dispute informally by email for at least 30 days. Any lawsuit must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court.
21. General
- These Terms, together with the policies linked here, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
- If any part is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a right is not a waiver.
- You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in a merger, acquisition or sale of our business.
- Neither party is responsible for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
- Notices to you go to your account email. Notices to us go to support@rennt.app.
