Webhooks with Zapier and Make, in plain English

Give Rennt a webhook URL and it notifies your other software the moment a booking happens.

Webhooks let Rennt notify other software the moment something happens — they are the building block behind Zapier and Make automations.

The concept in one paragraph#

A webhook is a URL you give Rennt. When an event happens (say, a new booking), Rennt sends the details to that URL automatically. Zapier and Make give you such a URL and then let you route the data anywhere — a Google Sheet, a Slack message, an email to your bookkeeper.

Setting one up with Zapier#

  1. In Zapier, create a Zap with "Webhooks by Zapier" as the trigger (Catch Hook). Copy the URL it gives you.
  2. In Rennt, open Settings, find the webhooks panel, and paste that URL.
  3. Make a test booking on your storefront; Zapier catches it and shows you the fields.
  4. Add whatever action you want — append to a spreadsheet, ping your phone, anything Zapier connects to.

Make works the same way with its own webhook module.

Ideas that pull their weight#

  • New booking: text the warehouse crew.
  • New booking: add a row to the season spreadsheet.
  • New customer: add them to your email list.
!
Treat webhook URLs like passwords — anyone who has one can receive your booking data.
