Taking cash on delivery the right way
Confirm the booking, collect at the door, record the payment the same day.

Cash on delivery works great on Rennt — the trick is recording the payment the same day so your books stay straight.
The workflow#
- A booking comes in and you confirm it. The customer has already read and signed your rental agreement online, so the terms — including cash due at delivery — are in writing.
- Your driver collects the cash at the door, before unloading. Count it there.
- Mark the order delivered in Bookings (or your driver taps Mark delivered on their phone).
- Open the booking and record the payment as cash on its payments ledger. The balance drops to zero.
Why record it at all?#
Because three months from now you will not remember who paid what. The ledger gives you amount due, amount paid, and balance per booking, and Export CSV hands your accountant clean numbers at tax time.
★
Put "payment due in cash at delivery, before setup" in your rental agreement. Signed terms end doorstep negotiations.
i
Rennt charges the same flat pricing either way — a cash booking costs you the same 1¢ metered fee as a card booking, and 0% commission on both.
