How can we help?

Can I take checks and other offline payments?

Yes. Take the money however you like and record it on the booking so the balance stays true.

Yes — checks, bank transfers, and other offline payments all work. Rennt does not process them; it keeps the record straight so you always know who has paid.

Recording an offline payment#

Open the booking in Bookings and add the payment to its ledger, choosing check or other as the method. The booking's balance updates instantly, the same as a cash or card payment.

Sensible habits for checks#

  • Write the check number in the booking's notes so you can trace it later.
  • Consider waiting for the check to clear before you treat the balance as settled — you can record the payment when it clears rather than when it is handed over.
  • For event dates that are close, ask for cash or card instead; a bounced check after the party is your problem, not the customer's.

Bank transfers and payment apps#

Same idea: take the money through whatever service you already use, then record it on the booking as other. Rennt takes 0% either way.

★
Export CSV from Bookings gives your accountant dates and amounts in one file, so offline payments sit alongside card payments at tax time.
