Blackout dates: closing off days
Block bookings for a date range — for the whole business or a single product.
Plan: All plansWho: Everyone
A blackout blocks bookings for a date range — customers simply cannot pick those days on your storefront. Use it for holidays, vacations, or an item that is out for repair.
Inventory›Availability & blackout dates
Adding one#
Scroll to the Availability & blackout dates panel near the bottom of Inventory. Choose what it applies to — a single product, or "Whole business" to close everything — set the start and end dates, and click + Add blackout. It takes effect on the storefront immediately.
The two flavors#
- Whole business: nothing can be booked for those dates. Family vacation, Christmas week, the weekend the county fair has all your stock already.
- One product: only that item is blocked. The go-to for repairs — torn bounce house, bent tent poles — without touching the rest of the calendar.
Things worth knowing#
- Blackouts block new storefront bookings; they do not cancel bookings already on the books for those dates. Handle those from Bookings.
- The panel lists every blackout; delete one there to reopen the dates.
- A blackout is different from being booked out: quantity handles "all 4 are rented", blackouts handle "we are closed" or "it is broken".

Going away? Set the whole-business blackout a few days wider than your trip, so nothing is due out the morning you leave.
