The CSV tools live in a collapsed panel at the very bottom of Inventory (the bulk CSV tools). Use them to load a big catalog from a spreadsheet in one go, or to download your data for backups and accounting.

Importing products#

  1. Click "Choose CSV to import…" in that panel — or the Import products (CSV) button at the top of the page; same thing.
  2. Not sure about the format? Download template first and fill it in.
  3. The importer reads the columns name, category, price, qty, description — plus optional extras like price_unit, deposit, setup fee and photo_url.
  4. You get a preview before anything is saved — check it, then confirm.

Categories create themselves: any category name in your file that does not exist yet is added automatically.

Exporting#

Three one-click downloads in the same panel: Export products, Export bookings and Export customers. Bookings export in an accounting-friendly format (dates, amounts, tax, who signed) that imports into QuickBooks.

Practical tips#

  • Spreadsheet first, software second: if your catalog lives in Excel today, clean it there, save as CSV, import once.
  • Photos are the one thing CSV does not do well — photo_url works if you have hosted images, but most owners import the data, then add photos with Upload photo row by row.
  • Run Export products before any big bulk edit; it is a free undo file.
