Locations / warehouses: stock in more than one place
Track which stockroom holds each item and filter your list by location. Pro plan.
If your gear lives in more than one place — a warehouse and a garage, or two towns — locations let you record which stockroom holds each item, so you always know where things are. The panel appears on the Pro plan, in Advanced mode.
Setting up#
Scroll to the Locations / warehouses panel in Inventory and add each place by name ("Main warehouse", "Eastside storage"). Keep names short — they appear in dropdowns.
Assigning products#
Once locations exist, every product row gets a small location dropdown — set each product's home location. Then use the filter above the product list to see just one location's stock: loading the van for the east side, filter to Eastside and that is your pick list.
What it does (and does not do)#
Locations are a tracking layer: they answer "where is this?" and let you filter. They do not split availability per location — quantity is still business-wide, so a chair booked out is booked out regardless of which building it sleeps in. If you truly run two separate rental businesses with separate stock pools, run two Rennt storefronts instead.
Who needs this#
Skip it if everything is under one roof — the panel is hidden on Starter and in Simple mode precisely because most companies never need it. Turn to it when "which unit is where" starts costing you van trips.
