Every booking status, explained

What Requested, Confirmed, Paid, Fulfilled, Returned and Cancelled actually mean — and what each one does to your stock.

A booking moves through six statuses: requested, confirmed, paid, fulfilled, returned, cancelled. You move it forward with the action buttons at the top of the booking detail — open any booking from Bookings to see them.

Requested#

A customer submitted this from your storefront (or your AI chat agent took it). Nothing is promised yet and — this matters — a request does not hold stock. Two people can request the same bounce house for the same day. The detail screen shows two buttons: Confirm and "Decline". Answer fast; renters usually book whoever replies first.

Confirmed#

You pressed Confirm. This is the moment Rennt reserves the inventory for that date and emails the customer their confirmation. From here the item cannot be double-booked. The buttons become "Mark paid", "Mark fulfilled", and "Cancel".

Paid#

You have the money in hand. Rennt does not flip this automatically from the ledger — "Mark paid" is your own signal that the balance is settled. (Stripe card payments do record themselves in the Payments ledger inside the booking; the status is still yours to set.)

Fulfilled#

The items are out the door — delivered or picked up. Use "Mark fulfilled" on event day. If you run Dispatch, marking a stop delivered is the operational version of the same fact.

Returned#

Everything came back. "Mark returned" closes the loop; the booking stays in your history and your Reports.

Cancelled#

The order is dead — either you pressed "Decline" on a request or "Cancel" on a confirmed booking. Cancelling releases the reserved stock immediately, so the date opens up for other customers.

!
Statuses only move forward via the buttons shown for the current status. If you fulfilled an order but never confirmed it in Rennt, confirm it first — otherwise the stock was never actually reserved.
