The Dispatch board, step by step
Pick a date, order the stops, hand each driver their route, and watch Mark delivered stamps come in. Deliveries and pickups each get their own board.
Dispatch turns a day of bookings into an ordered route. Open the tab, pick the date, and every delivery scheduled that day appears as a stop — then you put the stops in driving order and run the day from one screen. It is a Pro feature, built for the Saturday where three runs become eight.
Deliveries and Pickups are separate runs#
Two buttons at the top switch the board between "Deliveries" and "Pickups" mode. Each mode keeps its own stop order and its own done-stamps — because Saturday's drop-off route and Monday's collection route are different days, different sequences, sometimes different drivers. Do not plan one and assume the other.
Ordering the stops#
Arrange the day's stops into driving order, or let Rennt do it — it can sequence the route efficiently for you, and you adjust for what the map cannot know ("the noon wedding is hard-timed; the backyard party is flexible"). Time-critical stops go early; flexible ones absorb the slack.
Working the route#
Each stop shows the customer, the address and the items. Addresses open straight into navigation, and the driver view adds one-tap calling — see "Driver phone mode". As the truck empties, tap Mark delivered on each stop (or Mark picked up in Pickups mode). The stamp lands on the booking itself, with the time — so whoever is home answering "is my bounce house coming?" can see the truth without radioing the truck.
The habits that make it work#
- Order tomorrow's route the night before; morning is for loading, not planning.
- Mark stops AS they happen, not from memory at day's end — the timestamps are your operational record, and they are evidence when a customer claims a late delivery.
- A stop with a vague address will not route. Fix addresses when the booking is taken, not on the truck.
