Turning a quote into a booking
When the customer accepts your proposal it becomes a real booking — no re-typing. Your job is the two steps after that.
When the customer presses accept on your proposal page, the quote converts into a real booking automatically — same items, same prices, same customer, no re-typing. The order's detail shows Accepted with the date.
Step 1: Confirm it#
Acceptance is the customer saying yes; Confirm is you saying yes back. Open the booking in Bookings and press Confirm — that is the step that actually reserves the inventory for the date and emails the customer their confirmation. Do not skip it: an accepted-but-unconfirmed order is still not holding stock, and a busy Saturday can sell out under it.
If the date has since filled up, this is the moment Rennt will fight you about it — better to discover that now than on delivery day. Call the customer and rework the order before confirming.
Step 2: Take the deposit#
Money turns "accepted" into "committed". Collect your deposit and record it in the booking's Payments ledger (deposit — cash, card, check or other; Stripe card payments record themselves). The ledger keeps the running balance so the final payment amount is never a debate.
After that, it is a normal booking#
Everything from here works like any other order: it appears in Bookings and on the Calendar view, Print pull sheet for the crew, delivery runs through Delivery and Dispatch, and the balance gets settled in the ledger. The quote's history — sent, viewed, accepted — stays on the order, which is a tidy paper trail if anyone later asks "when did we agree to this?"
